Klariz Tucker

Klariz graduated cum laude with a degree in exercise science from Florida State University in 2015. During her undergrad years, she tutored regularly with USSTRIDE in East Gadsden High School, Havana Middle School and the PAEC Migrant Education Center. Klariz also worked under the instruction of Dr. Wei Yang in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry through the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program to research and present at the FSU Undergraduate Research Symposium about the different protein mutations of p53, a tumor suppressor gene. In addition, she was a committed member of the Honors Medical Scholars Society and held positions as secretary and co-president. She aspires to be a practicing physician in her hometown of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, while being a leader in her community in promoting the importance of preventive medicine to her patients.
