The Florida State University College of Medicine
carefully selects students who are outstanding academically and are
committed to the college's mission of service to Florida's medically
underserved populations. FSU medical students come from all over
Florida and are culturally diverse. Many come from small towns and
rural areas, but the state's major metropolitan areas are also well
represented. A number of students are older than average for medical
school and bring a broad range of professional and life experiences,
while others come straight out of undergraduate programs. Most are
active in student organizations, community service projects and
medical outreach programs.
