Proposal Submission Stage
What the Principal Investigator does:
- Sign required sponsor forms and FSU Transmittal Form
- Submit proposal to Department Chair, for review,
signature and approval that:
- Research is consistent with the mission of the department
and college
- Statement on space, personnel, and facilities available is
accurate
- PI has checked appropriate box for matriculation costs for
graduate students on FSU Transmittal Form
- PI has checked all appropriate compliance boxes on FSU
Transmittal Form
- PI has proposed a reasonable percent effort consistent with
annual assignments
- No cost-sharing is proposed unless required by the sponsor;
exceptions may be made for corporate or private funding
agencies.
- Submit proposal to COM OFR
What the COM Office for Research Does:
OFR Research Coordinator will:
- Review final version of proposal for:
- Budget accuracy
- All entries on FSU Transmittal Form are consistent with
those in proposal
- Appropriate compliance forms/numbers are documented and/or
attached to FSU Transmittal Form
- Required sponsor forms are filled out and proposal is
assembled appropriately
Associate Dean for Research will:
- Review proposal in its entirety
- Sign proposal for the College of Medicine
Given one (1) week's notice prior to the submission deadline,
the College of Medicine-Office for Research will:
- Deliver entire proposal to appropriate Sponsored
Research administrator for approval and official University
Representative final signature
- Pick Up proposal from Sponsored Research Services when
approved and signed
AND-----provided PI furnishes “final version” of ALL parts
of proposal ON TIME to College of Medicine-Office for Research:
- Copy the Sponsor required number of copies (plus copies
needed for PI use)
- Send proposal to Sponsor via FedEx
