PROJECT FUNDRAISER
Stephen Shore, author of “Understanding Autism for Dummies,” will
join the Florida State University Center for Autism and Related

Spectrum: An Inside View Towards Success.”
Shore, diagnosed with “strong autistic tendencies,” was nonverbal
until age 4. With help from teachers and family, he has become a
world-renowned author of books such as “Beyond the Wall: Personal
Experiences with Autism and Asperger Syndrome” and “Ask and Tell:
Self-Advocacy and Disclosure for People on the Autism Spectrum.”
Shore, who earned a doctoral degree in special education from Boston
University, often works with children, talking about life on the
autism spectrum. He also is a speaker and consultant on adult issues
relating to education, relationships, employment, advocacy and
disclosure.
