Membership Information

Students who are pursuing a pre-medical and pre-health profession are welcome to apply for MAPS membership. There are no specific requirements to be a general member other than submitting an application along with the appropriate fee. However, to participate in certain programs you are required to be an inducted member. Members can be inducted accumulation a set number of points per semester. These points are earned through involvement in community service projects, fundraising activities, attending meetings, and tutoring. Induction ceremonies are held at the end of each semester in honor of the achievements from that term.

Requirements to be inducted:

In order for a student to become an inducted member they must obtained:

  • a 3.2 overall Grade Point Average or higher
  • the minimum of points attained per semester. These points are accumulated by members being involved in community service projects, fund-raising activities, attending bi-weekly meetings/workshop, tutoring and study sessions

MAPS POINT SYSTEM

In order to be inducted, MAPS members must obtain a total of 60 points between Fall and Spring Semester. Inductions are in mid spring, so be aware that we stop taking points at a certain point yet to be announced. There are MANY opportunities for points so please attend the events and meetings.

FOOTBALL GAMES 1 POINT every 2 hrs + Service Hours
  •  A total of 40 points is required to remain an active member
  •  A total of 60 points is required to become an inducted member
