Orlando Regional Medical School Campus

As a community-based medical school, the Florida State University College of Medicine provides third- and fourth-year clinical training at regional medical school campuses around the state through affiliations with local physicians, ambulatory care facilities and hospitals.

At the Regional Medical School Campus - Orlando, clerkship directors from the Orlando area direct the students' rotations in: family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, geriatrics, psychiatry and emergency medicine. Additional community physicians serve as clerkship faculty in these and other clinical areas.

  • Dr. Mark Weatherly (pictured left), Orlando Regional Campus Clinical Associate Professor for Pediatrics, was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society at a ceremony in Tallahassee

  • In a special presentation held on March 20, 2013, Florida Hospital presented a donation of $2 Million to the Orlando Regional Campus.

  • Dr. Don Eslin, clinical associate professor of Pediatrics at the Orlando Campus, was named Chair of Pediatrics at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital.

  • M3 students, Camilo Fernandez-Salvador and Annie Chau, painted the utility box outside the Orlando campus. The signal box painting is part of a public art project headed by the Mills 50 District and the City of Orlando to help highlight the creativity and cultural diversity of downtown Orlando.

  • Dr. Debra Andree, clinical assistant professor of Pediatrics at the Orlando campus, was appointed Chief of Pediatrics at Community Health Centers, a medical facility that offers affordable care to patients in Central Florida.

  • Dr. Joan Meek (pictured second from left), Orlando campus faculty member and Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, traveled to Madrid and New Delhi to discuss infant nutrition and breastfeeding as a global health issue.

  • Fourth-year medical student Sarah Weaver attended the 2013 AMA National Advocacy Conference in Washington D.C.
