Research
The centerpiece for departmental research includes the FSU Autism Institute headed by Dr. Amy Wetherby, distinguished research professor, and includes a research network to study various aspects of Autism Related Disorders and Developmental Disabilities. This research network spans to community field research and provides screening and behavioral intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders throughout Florida.
Dr. Gerry Maitland, a Neuroligist in the Clinical Sciences Department, is co-founder of the Neuroscience Center and of the Memory Disorders Clinic at the Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center. He is intensely involved in the participation of our medical students in a variety of clinical research projects and also has research interests in movement disorders including Parkinson's Disease.
