The Florida State University College of Medicine’s community-based model of education provides an ideal foundation for a community-based clinical research network. The FSU CoM’s Clinical Research Network (CRN) is a statewide and collaborative research network of faculty, community-based healthcare professionals and researchers that supports clinical and translational research.

This integrated network strengthens partnerships between academic institutions, healthcare professionals, community-based practices and other stakeholders to enhance and promote research collaboration. The CRN provides clinical, translational and behavioral research opportunities that are conducted in diverse “real-world” settings, including medical practices, health systems, school-based clinics and community health centers. This variation of research settings allows access to patients across the spectrum of health, gender, age, socioeconomic status and geographic location.
