Class of 2021

Hometown: Perry, Fla.
Undergraduate Degree: Florida State University

Kaylee Denmark graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in biological science and a minor in chemistry. Kaylee was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa and Mortar Board Honor Society at FSU, and was also a recipient of The Southern Scholarship Foundation scholarship, a rent-free housing program where she served as both treasurer and business manager. She also became a certified medical assistant through the FSU College of Medicine USSTRIDE program. This experience solidified her calling to medicine. Her passion to help the underserved motivated Kaylee to embark on a mission trip to a malnutrition center in Guatemala in 2015 with Orphan’s Heart, as well as a medical mission trip to Jamaica in 2016 to serve those without access to health care. After graduating, she worked for a year with the College of Medicine as a SSTRIDE teacher in Gadsden County, where she enjoyed teaching middle school biology and mentoring students interested in STEM fields. In her free time, Kaylee enjoys fishing with her family, riding four-wheelers and spending time with her cat. Kaylee chose the FSU College of Medicine because of its emphasis on serving rural and underserved populations and its commitment to producing compassionate physicians.
