Healthy Recipe of the Month

Apple Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 6 large apples, cored and sliced
  • ˝ cup SPLENDA
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoons water
  • ˝ cup dry oatmeal
  • 2 low fat crunchy cinnamon granola bars

Preparation

  1. Mix together apples, Splenda flour, cinnamon into medium mixing bowl; pour batter into a 10-inch pan.
  2. Crush the oatmeal and granola bars in a food blender; sprinkle over the apples.
  3. Bake at 375F for about one hour or until bubble at the top. Serve hot with low fat vanilla ice cream, if you like.
Active Aging is older adults still having fun and being active instead of letting aging slow them down.
 
  • “Off the Rockers” a geriatric line dancing group from Westminster Oaks on 9/16 performed in the Atrium at the COM as part of the college’s geriatrics training. They performed a variety of dances along with participation from faculty, staff & medical students.

    This a story involving an 89 year old woman name Rachel and her beloved Chariot 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente. She’s had her chariot for over 3 decades and have traveled more than 540,000 miles across the nation.
