Job Description

|
Dr. Harrison is Course Director for Doctoring 3, a yearlong program that provides didactics as well as a Longitudinal Clerkship for third-year medical students. She is also the Family Medicine Clerkship Director for the Tallahassee Regional Campus, supervising both the third-year Family Medicine Clerkship and the fourth-year Advanced Family Medicine Clerkship. She serves as a small-group facilitator for Doctoring 1, 2 and 3, and also provides occasional lectures for Doctoring 1 and 3, Medicine & Behavior, and the Honors Medical Seminar. She also teaches in the Clinical Learning Center for both Doctoring 1 and Doctoring 2. Dr. Harrison provides patient care and precepts medical students at Jefferson County Health Department, Neighborhood Health Services and Refuge House. Dr. Harrison has developed a free clinic at Refuge House in Tallahassee. She is the faculty advisor for the FSU chapter of American Medical Women's Association (AMWA).

Biosketch
|
|
Prior to joining the FSU College of Medicine in April 2005, Dr. Harrison was a faculty member at the Tallahassee Memorial Family Practice Residency Program. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Valley Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of Washington Family Medicine Residency Network. Following her training, Dr. Harrison spent 10 years in Walla Walla, Wash., practicing the full spectrum of family medicine, including obstetrics. During that time she served as Department Chair of Pediatrics and Obstetrics at St. Mary Medical Center. Dr. Harrison was involved in clinical teaching while in private practice through the University of Washington MEDEX program and Whitworth College. |
