Job Description

Karen Myers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Rural Health at the College of Medicine. She serves as an instructor for first- and second-year medical students in the Doctoring Course, teaching clinical skills, small group sessions and Lecture. She also coordinates the involvement of local physicians who serve as preceptors for first- and second-year students. She practices at a rural County Health Department one day a week providing care to the underserved rural population. Karen serves as a preceptor for medical student at that site. Her background is in family medicine.

Biosketch

Karen Myers is a Registered Nurse Practitioner with many years of experience in the Tallahassee area. She has been in practicing medicine in Tallahassee since 1984. She became a full-time faculty member of the College of Medicine in 2003.

Service

Volunteer at Neighborhood Health Services providing care to the underserved in the Tallahassee Area. She also is a Co-Advisor for the Student Association of Pre-health Professionals, and undergraduate group interested in the medical field. Karen works with the Florida State University Diversity Leadership Mentoring Program, mentoring undergraduate students.
