Job Description
Instructor of Spanish in the Department of Medical Humanities & Social Sciences.

Biosketch
Dr. Sualdea taught English at the secondary level in Spain and Spanish at the post-secondary level at FSU, at Florida A&M University and in Florida’s community-college system. She has taught customized Spanish for several state agencies in Florida and taught with the FSU Costa Rican Program.

Dr. Sualdea also has edited Spanish textbooks related to grammar, composition and conversation for the publishing houses Heinle & Heinle, John Wiley & Sons and Harcourt College Publishers and has performed translations and interpretations for several state agencies, immigration lawyers and the federal government, including the federal court system.

Education
M.A., English and Spanish, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras at the University of Valladolid in Spain (1976).

M.A., Spanish, Florida State University (1986).

Ph.D., Curriculum and Instruction: Multi Cultural/ Multilingual, English as a Second Language with a focus on Spanish Language and Literature, Florida State University (1991). Her research centered on intermediate-level Spanish literature textbooks.

Dr. Sualdea, a native of Spain, completed additional studies at Tufts University, Medford, MA; the University of California, Berkeley; and the University of Kent, Canterbury, England.
