Okaloosa County SSTRIDE
Coordinator
Penny Eubanks, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Zoology from the University of Maine in Orono. She began
working with the Okaloosa County Rural SSTRIDE Program under the
auspices of the West Florida Area Health Education Center (AHEC)
in January of 2007. Mrs. Eubanks coordinates activities for 67
students, five teachers, 3 mentors, and 4 tutors at Richbourg
and Davidson Middle Schools and Crestview High School. The first
class of Okaloosa SSTRIDE students will be high school juniors
for the 2007-2008 school year. As a former employee of the
Okaloosa County School District and many years of involvement
with local organizations, she enjoys serving as a liaison
between the school district, the local community, and Florida
State University College of Medicine. Her passion has always
been working with young people and helping them to achieve their
goals. SSTRIDE is allowing her to walk with them on that pathway
to success.
