After 15 years of dedicated and distinguished service in the Florida State University College of Medicine Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health, Dr. Curtis C. Stine retired May 31, 2017.

Dr. Stine was the first faculty member hired in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health.  He went on to serve as Interim Chair, hiring five faculty members who would help build the department as an integral component in the College of Medicine's mission-driven approach to medical education.

Dr. Stine served as the first family medicine education director, creating the initial clerkship curriculum and training each of the family medicine clerkship directors at our regional campuses.

On July 11, 2017, at the Annual Faculty Council Awards Ceremony, Dean John Fogarty, M.D. appointed Dr. Stine the first Professor Emeritus in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health.
