MSC awards honor student organizations

The Medical Student Council recently handed out its yearly awards to recognize student organizations’ work. Here are this year’s winners:

  • Event of the Year: American Medical Women’s Association Regional Conference (“Igniting a Change”).
  • Service Event of the Year: Quincy Migrant Health Fair (FSUCares; Latino Medical Student Association; Pediatric Interest Group; and Nutrition, Exercise, and Wellness Organization).
  • Philanthropic Fundraiser of the Year: Aspiring Physician Scholarship for Undergraduates (Student National Medical Association).
  • Advisor of the Year: Suzanne Harrison, M.D. (American Medical Women’s Association).
  • President of the Year: Alyssa Davis (American Medical Women’s Association).
  • RSO (Registered Student Organization) of the Year: FSUCares.

“We would like to congratulate everyone involved and truly thank all of our student organizations for putting together events which have a profound impact at the College of Medicine as well as our entire community,” said first-year student Murali Iyyani, MSC president, in an email to the medical school’s students, faculty and staff.
