Dr. Joedrecka Brown Speights Receives Award for Leadership and Support

Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health, Dr. Joedrecka Brown Speights, received the Angel Honoree for Leadership and Support in Achieving Maternal and Child Health Equity Award at the Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition's (CAHSC) 25th Anniversary Benefit for Babies held May 18, 2017.

Kristy Goldwire, CAHSC executive director, right, pictured here with Dr. Brown Speights, said, “In 1992, Capital Area Healthy Start opened its doors to carry out Governor Lawton Chiles' mission to reduce infant mortality in Florida. Twenty-five years later, we are still going strong in helping pregnant women and educating the community on the impact of infant and fetal deaths."
